Last week I streamed live on Facebook an important talk about healing. I spoke in depth about how to understand pain and loss and then how to rise again.
Folks, my talk was about trauma, and 60% of the comments were about my nail polish!
Now, I'm not mentioning this in order to begin a fiqhi discussion about wudu or to break down the abc's of when a woman can and cannot pray. I mention this now to highlight a far deeper concern.
Brothers and sisters, are we missing the forest for a single leaf? In our obsession with the surface of things, (particularly the strange obsession with what women wear), are we perhaps missing the whole point? Have we totally lost sight of priorities?
